Qigong
(Chee-kung)
With a history that spans 5,000 years, Qigong (Chee-kung) is an
ancient Chinese meditative exercise that is very popular for improving
health in China. Based on traditional Chinese medical principles
for treating body, mind and spirit, qigong restores balance to one's
qi (chee) which is essential for healing. Qi is translated as the
vital energy in the body, and gong means work or discipline. Using
slow movements, qigong helps one focus the mind to move qi in the
body. When qi flows freely through the body, it breaks through blockages
related to illness and stress allowing the body to heal, decrease
tension, and improve mental clarity and intuition.
