NAET,
Nambudripad's Allergy Elimination Techniques, is a natural
therapy used to eliminate allergies of all types using energy balancing,
muscle testing and treatment protocols derived from Chinese medicine,
allopathic medicine, chiropractic, nutrition, and kinesiology. NAET
was discovered by Dr. Devi S. Nambudripad in 1983 and can be used
safely on everyone including infants and children, elders and patients
in a coma.

Allergens Treated by NAET
NAET can successfully eliminate adverse reactions to food, chemical,
and environmental allergens, pathogens, vibrations and physical
sensitivities like heat, cold, dampness, and wind. Examples of allergens
include vitamins, herbs, eggs, milk, peanuts, penicillin, aspirin,
mushrooms, shellfish, latex, grass, ragweed, flowers, perfume, animal
dander, make-up, chemicals, cigarette smoke, computers, pathogens,
exercise, chemotherapy, vaccinations and immunizations.

Causes of Allergies
Allergies are the result of energetic imbalances in the body and
can be caused by one or more of the following factors: heredity,
environmental toxins, low immune system functioning, physical/emotional
stress or trauma, malabsorption disorders, toxins produced in the
body from infections, yeast, parasites and heavy metals.

Treatment of Allergies: Western medicine
versus NAET
Western medicine attributes allergies to an over-reactive immune
system where an allergic person is highly sensitive to substances
that are often harmless to the majority of individuals. The brain
misinterprets the allergen as being a threat to the body's well-being,
and as a result various symptoms arise such as runny nose, sneezing,
pain, fatigue, etc. Western medicine tests for allergies using any
of the following methods: Intra-dermal test, Patch test, Scratch
test, RAST test, ELISA test. Western medical treatment involves
drug therapy (antihistamines or steroids) to control allergic symptoms.
This approach, however, does not correct the underlying problem
and can lead to serious long term side effects.

NAET
views allergies from a holistic perspective based mainly on Chinese
medical theory, which defines an allergy as a substance that creates
disharmony and blockage in the energy flow in the body. This energy
blockage interferes with proper nervous system communication between
the brain and body which eventually leads to an allergic response.
In other words, there is an energy imbalance between the electromagnetic
energy of the person and the allergen which then causes symptoms
in the person's body. Total health declines over time if a person's
energy pathways are continually blocked due to the presence of allergies.
Once a person has been completely treated for a particular food
or environmental allergen, it is no longer necessary to avoid it
because of the body's reprogramming. Until the discovery of NAET,
complete avoidance of the allergen was the most effective treatment
option which can be difficult and sometimes impossible.

Number
of NAET Treatments Needed
Before beginning treatment, each patient is required to read Say
Goodbye to Illness, by Dr. Devi Nambudripad. Each session involves
the treatment of one allergen at a time. A person with mild to moderate
allergies may require 15-20 treatments to desensitize 15-20 allergens.
However, highly sensitive people may need additional treatments.

Cost
of NAET Treatments:
The initial treatment is $105 (one and a half hours), and the follow-up
visits are $70 (one hour).

What to Expect during an NAET Treatment
Muscle testing procedures are used first to diagnose the allergen(s).
Then a systematic treatment procedure combining acupressure and
acupuncture is given to reprogram the brain with a new message about
the allergen. After each session, it is necessary to avoid the treated
allergen for 25 hours. After that time, exposure to the allergen
should not create an allergic response.
